Conditions for Pete’s Classic Car rentals

Please Note: This document contains a summary of some of the rental conditions. For detailed conditions, refer to the rental agreement upon vehicle collection.  

ROAD RESTRICTIONS

All vehicles must always be driven on sealed/bitumen roads at all times. We understand some wedding venues do not have sealed roads. Please let us know prior to pick up. The Mustangs cannot travel outside of Victoria. If you wish to travel out of Victoria please advise Pete’s Classic Garage prior to your trip.

EXCESS KILOMETRES       

Our prices include 200kms free per day (6 HOUR HIRE). Excess kms is charged at $0.50 cents per km.

Our prices include 400kms free per day (24 HOUR HIRE). Excess kms is charged at $0.50 cents per km.

Our prices include 800kms free per weekend (weekend special). Excess kms is charged at $0.50 cents per km.

All insurance and refundable money is waived if the above conditions are breached. Any damage and/or recovery costs are the responsibility of the renter.

TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS

We reserve the right to charge the customer for any traffic infringements. An administration fee applies of $65.00. Any accident must be reported immediately to Pete’s Classic Garage.

FUEL

Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and must be returned full. If not, a $50 fee plus fuel replacement cost is applied.

RENTAL PERIOD

The Mustang rental period starts from the agreed time of pick up. You can pick up the Mustang late, however, it must be returned on time to not inconvenience staff or other customers. If vehicle is returned late, 1st hour late - $100. Over 2hrs late is full day rate. Obtain a better rate by booking your vehicle for an extended period of time.

CHANGE OF VEHICLE

Should the vehicle booked be unavailable through unforeseen circumstances Pete’s Classic Garage reserves the right to substitute an alternative vehicle without prior notification. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer a refund.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

Drivers must be 25 years or over, with a full driver’s licence. If the licence is not an English format then an international driver’s licence is required. A current motor vehicle driver's licence is required and must be produced on pick-up. International licences require a $2,000 bond.

CLEANING FEE

A cleaning fee is imposed if the vehicle is not returned in a reasonable condition to the manager’s discretion. If the vehicle is returned in not a clean condition a fee of $60 will be deducted from the bond.

BOND DEPOSIT

A bond deposit of $2000 on credit card or debit card is required on all vehicles at time of collection.  Petes Classic Garage reserves the right to increase the bond amount on a case-by-case scenario. International customers and customers with no Australian resident identification the bond is $2,000 on credit card only.   Bond is by hold on credit card or debit card. The card holder is jointly and severally liable for any damage to the rental vehicle. The security deposit is fully refundable provided the vehicle is returned on time, undamaged and in a clean order with a full fuel tank. Failure to return the vehicle clean, undamaged will incur a fee which will be advised upon return of the vehicle.  Bond will be captured if driving on unsealed roads, in event of incident, damage or excessively dirty identified, bond will be captured and vehicle assessed for repair/ cleaning.   

The rate of hire includes insurance with a $7000.00 damage liability. You can pay an additional $40.00 per day and reduce your damage liability down to $2000.00. A bond on a credit card or debit/credit card is required on the day of collection. (details below)  

If you would like to have a zero excess insurance we recommend buying additional insurance online www.carhireexcess.com.au for approximately $45.00 per day. This additional insurance can cover you for the liability, tyres, windscreen etc.

VEHICLE EXCESS

All insurance cover will be made void if any of the following exclusions are breached: Insurance does not cover:

(a) Exceeding the legal speed limit (form attached to all booking confirmations) Due to the protection of the Mustangs the cars are installed with a GPS tracker. When the vehicle travels over the legal limit in Victoria we are alerted. Any misuse of the Mustang may result in the forfeiture of your entire bond.

(b) Hooning – thrashing / burnouts

(c) Single vehicle accidents

Personal belongings are not covered. We recommend the renter does not leave valuables in the vehicle and should take out personal insurance. Breach of Rental Agreement terms. The renter will be responsible for the total cost of any damage. This will include any damage caused by willful conduct e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle.
Incorrect use of fuel – Modern Mustangs to be returned with receipt of fuel purchase (E10 or 95). Receipt to be left in console or given to staff @ Pete’s Classic Garage. The cost to replace keys which have become lost, or retrieval of keys which have been locked in a vehicle. Any damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The vehicle rented may only be used to legally carry the amount of passengers allowed. If more passengers are carried than allowed Pete’s Classic Garage does not accept any responsibility.

Drivers not identified on the rental agreement and/or a drivers that does not have a current open licence.

The hirer is responsible for any recovery costs incurred through negligence regardless of the insurance excess. Pete’s Classic Garage cannot be held responsible for any breakdowns due to negligence (lights left on / flooding of vehicle). If Pete's Garage have to come out and assist due to failure of listening to the starting instructions on pick up or handing the Mustang to a third party with no instructions, there will be a call out fee (approx. $125 per hour) if the Mustang starts with no problem on arrival from Pete’s Garage.  Genuine breakdowns will not incur this fee. Please call Pete's Garage first.
